25.-30. September 1990 im Deutschen Historischen Institut, Washington, D.C.

Die Society for Reformation Research und der Verein für Reformationsgeschichte arbeiten seit Ende des 2. Weltkrieges zusammen. Deshalb erschien es sinnvoll, 1990 auf Einladung des Deutschen Historischen Instituts in Washington eine gemeinsame Konferenz der beiden Gesellschaften zur Lage der Reformationsgeschichtsschreibung zu veranstalten. Die Ergebnisse der Tagung wurden in einem Sonderband des ARG veröffentlicht. Der Band dokumentiert die Breite der Diskussionen und der wissenschaftlichen Debatten.
